Did you know that September's birth stone is a Sapphire? Most of us know Sapphires as being blue, but they actually come in an array of colors: pink, yellow, purple, white, orange, and green. Significant sapphire deposits are found in Eastern Australia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, East Africa and in the United States near Montana.
The color in all gemstones can be broken down by hue, saturation, and tone. Hue refers to the color of the stone, saturation refers to the brightness of the stone, and tone refers to the lightness to darkness, with the most popular hue being blue.
Chardé has a variety of pieces with Sapphire in them hitting all price points. Whether you are looking for your classic blue, or want to venture out and try out pink (like the Barry Kronen ring to the left), we can find something for your September girl. Happy Birthday to all our September customers!
Cliff Hybarger opened Chardé in 1987. He began with mostly silver pieces inspired by Mexican silver and Native American work. He offers true craftsmanship in his jewelry selections, always keeping his customers in mind. Cliff opened his first store in 1975 in New Braunsfels, Texas, giving him 30+ years of experience in jewelry repair, offering in house, personal attention to each piece. You can often catch Cliff when you come in the store buried at his bench, always taking time to look up from his spectacles to greet each customer. Cliff hopes to continue in sharing his love for jewelry through the new online store, and feels truly blessed to be able to pass on his honest passion to all of his customers. High quality, unique jewelry and unquestionable customer service, at affordable prices, is Chardé's philosophy.
